# NotifyPopup

`NotifyPopup` captures a Notify ID, Notify Date, and Notify Text for a Task/Notify entry, enforcing required-field and future-date validation before confirming the entry to the hosting page ([OP-4](../../operations/notify-popup-notify-task-capture.md)). It performs no delegated business/data access beyond the `clsSmartDate` value type used to carry the captured date.

## Purpose
- Capture and validate Notify ID, Notify Date, and Notify Text before allowing confirmation ([BR-POPUP-003](../../business-rules.md#br-popup-003-notify-entry-requires-a-notify-id%2C-a-valid-notify-date%2C-and-the-date-must-not-precede-today)).
- Default the Notify Date to today via client-side scripting when the Notify ID field loses focus.

## Behavioral notes
- Validation enforces: Notify ID required; if an ID is present, a valid (non-`MinValue`) Notify Date is required; and the Notify Date cannot be earlier than today ([BR-POPUP-003](../../business-rules.md#br-popup-003-notify-entry-requires-a-notify-id%2C-a-valid-notify-date%2C-and-the-date-must-not-precede-today)).
- On validation failure, focus (`ControlWithFocus`) moves to the offending field and `ConfirmAction` is not raised.

## Constraints and usage notes
- The Notify Date field is an Infragistics `WebDateTimeEdit` (`igtxt:WebDateTimeEdit`); client-side default-date scripting relies on `igedit_getById(...)`, requiring the Infragistics client script libraries to be present on the hosting page*.
